Chicago is...

(the Cloud Gate Sculpture, "the bean")

my kind of town...Chicago is...
We made the long haul from Denver to Chicago yesterday. Today we took a break from driving, to hang out with our friends, Jim & Vanessa, and do some sight seeing of Chicago. We started off with a fabulous brunch @ Vella. Took the L-train, blue line, into downtown to spend the afternoon at Millenium Park. Millenium Park is just an amazing open space. We had hoped to maybe make a visit to the Art Institute of Chicago, but alas it was closed by 5pm. The
Pritzker Pavilion featured a symphonic concert of Wagner, which we ultimately did not sit through because everyone around us found it more interesting to hold conversations instead of listen to the music (wtf?). Instead, we made our way to Logan Bar & Grill for a light dinner, a couple of pitchers, and watching the Olympics. Tomorrow we make the drive to Connecticut.
